Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Marimont Consulting Ltd, trading as Précis Finance, processes personal data when you visit this website (precis.finance) or contact us through it. We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection law, including the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR).

This policy covers the marketing website only. It does not cover personal data processed within the Précis product or the public Précis Finance MCP demo service.

1. Data controller

The data controller is Marimont Consulting Ltd, trading as Précis Finance, registered in England and Wales with company number 10522573.

For any privacy request, contact hello@precis.finance. No Data Protection Officer has been appointed; privacy requests are handled through this contact.

2. What data we process, why, and on what basis

a) Server and connection logs (hosting)

When you visit the site, our hosting provider automatically records technical connection data — IP address, browser/user-agent, date and time, the page requested, and the referring page. This is necessary to deliver the site, keep it secure, and diagnose problems.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in operating a secure, functioning website (Art. 6(1)(f)). Processor: Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany, EU). Retention: only as long as necessary for security and operation, after which logs are deleted or anonymised.

b) Audience measurement (analytics)

We measure aggregate visits and where they come from using privacy-friendly analytics software that we self-host on our own EU infrastructure. It uses no cookies, stores nothing on your device, creates no persistent identifier, and does not track you across other websites. Measurements are aggregated and cannot be used to identify you.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding, in aggregate, how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f)). Because the software is self-hosted, no analytics data is shared with any third party.

c) Embedded video

Some pages offer a product video. The embedded video player is loaded only when you choose to play it — nothing is requested from that provider beforehand. When you play a video, the provider processes connection data (IP address, user-agent, referrer) and technical performance metrics to stream the content, and the player saves functional settings (such as volume and captions) in your browser’s local storage. Video delivery is restricted to EU locations.

Legal basis: legitimate interest in providing the video you requested (Art. 6(1)(f)). Processor: BunnyWay, informacijske storitve d.o.o. (“Bunny Stream”, Ljubljana, Slovenia, EU), under a data-processing agreement.

d) Enquiries and contacting us

If you ask to become a design partner, request help setting up Précis Finance MCP, or ask for a private demo using a form on this site, we process the details you submit — your email address and, where you provide them, your name, company and role — to respond to your enquiry and take steps at your request before any agreement. Trying the public MCP demo does not require submitting this form.

Form submissions are stored in a database on our own EU infrastructure; they are not sent to any third-party form provider, CRM or advertising service. When an enquiry arrives we receive an internal notification that contains no personal data. If you email us or use a booking link, we process the information you provide to respond.

Legal basis: steps taken at your request prior to a contract where applicable, or our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries (Art. 6(1)(b) / 6(1)(f)). Retention: enquiry details are kept for up to 12 months and deleted sooner when no longer needed (see §6).

3. Cookies and local storage

This site does not use cookies — no tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. The embedded video player stores functional settings on your device only after you choose to play a video. These settings support the playback you requested.

4. Who receives your data

Personal data is processed by us and by the processors named above:

• Hetzner Online GmbH — website hosting (Germany, EU)
• BunnyWay d.o.o. (Bunny Stream) — video delivery (Slovenia, EU)

Analytics is self-hosted by us and not shared with any third party. Details you submit through an enquiry form are stored on our own infrastructure, hosted by Hetzner, and are not sent to a third-party form provider, CRM or advertising service.

External links and buttons, including GitHub and scheduling services, take you to separate services governed by their own privacy policies. Email correspondence is handled through the email service used for our contact address.

5. International transfers

Website hosting is in Germany, analytics is self-hosted in the EU, and embedded video delivery is restricted to EU locations.

Where personal data is transferred between the EEA and the UK, we rely on the applicable adequacy decisions. Where a transfer to another country requires safeguards, we use the safeguards required by applicable data protection law, such as approved contractual clauses. You can contact us for information about any transfer safeguards relevant to your data.

6. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected: connection logs for the period needed for security and operation; analytics only in aggregate, non-identifying form; enquiry details submitted through the site for up to 12 months, with earlier deletion when no longer needed; and correspondence for as long as needed to handle your enquiry. If you become a customer, any further retention is explained in the applicable customer privacy information.

7. Your rights

Subject to applicable data protection law, you may request access to your personal data, its rectification or erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability. You may also object to processing based on legitimate interests. To exercise your rights, email hello@precis.finance.

You can raise a concern with us using the same contact. You also have the right to complain to a competent data protection authority. In the UK, you can contact the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). Where the EU GDPR applies, you can complain to the supervisory authority in the EU country where you habitually reside or work, or where you believe an infringement occurred. Contact details are available from the European Data Protection Board.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the latest revision.
